Dev Noyes has always been an avid reader and writer, entering short-story competitions since elementary school. The series Shades of Shadows actually started as a short-story submission more than twenty years ago, and has since taken on a life of its own in her imagination.

Over the past two decades, her characters have come alive in her mind, taking on individual quirks, personalities, and challenges as the series developed alongside Dev’s own life experiences.

Having received her Bachelor’s of Science in Anthropology, Dev is an explorer at heart. She’s fascinated with the legends and stories that define us as a society. With every trip she takes, she tries to incorporate lesser-known myths and folklore into her writing.

The daughter of a musician, music has played an instrumental role in her writing process as well. Many instances of writer’s block were finally broken through by a perfectly-timed playlist or concert.

If she’s not on a flight or fighting for her life in the pit, chances are she’s home cuddling her dog and husband in their home in central Indiana.
